Coat of arms:- a burning bush flanked by winged angels. Above the bush is a dove with an olive branch in its beak and above that is Noah's Ark

This building was designed by 'Sydney Mitchell & Wilson, architects, as new offices for the United Free Church of Scotland, in place of those vacated at the Mound. The building to the first floor is of Aberdeen grey granite, above that to the wall-head the three other floors are of dressed sandstone rusticated.' (The Builder, 3 March 1911, p.270) [1]. At the end of 1910, the business of Sydney Mitchell & Wilson was taken over by E.A.O.Auldjo Jamieson, who then took charge of the work. The Builder of 5 May 1911 reports that the building cost £29,000 [2].

In 1932-33 E.A.O.Auldjo Jamieson & J.A. Arnott added an extension to the building.

God appears to Moses in a burning bush - Exodus, 3.2. The dove returns to Noah's Ark with an olive leaf - Genesis 8.11.
