Wall fountain composed of three panels carved with the insignia of the Argyllshire Highlanders. On the two outer panels are the regiment's badge (originally containing water spouts.) On the central panel are three crowns, a boar's head, scrollwork and thistles. Below the panels is a low water trough.
On 25 July 1874 The Builder reported that 'Colonel Sprot and the officers of the 91st [Princess Louise's Argyllshire] Highlanders have presented the public with a drinking-fountain.' The fountain was designed and erected by Stewart, McGlashan & Son, sculptors.
