A figure is seated at a desk contained within the central letter C, within a square, and surrounded by a decorative border including thistles, with a bird at each of the top corners; the whole set within an architectural roundel.

In 1883 Robert Clark, founder of the printing works, R & R Clark Ltd purchased the site.
