A linear feature runs across the river estuary west of the present bridge. It is composed of rough stones forming a very low bank, approximately 2m wide and 250m long. There are three upright posts or stones marking its route near the southern shore. This feature is the remains of a WW2 row of anti-tank blocks observed on 1946 aerial photographs.
