A linear feature runs across the river estuary west of the present bridge. It is composed of rough stones forming a very low bank, approximately 2m wide and 250m long. There are three upright posts or stones marking its route near the southern shore. This feature is the remains of a WW2 row of anti-tank blocks observed on 1946 aerial photographs. Site recorded by GUARD during the Coastal Assessment Survey for Historic Scotland, 'The Firth of Forth from Dunbar to the Coast of Fife' 20th February 1996.
