Tollcross House, 591 Tollcross Road, 1848, David Bryce

Scots Baronial country house for James Dunlop. Asymmetrical, ashlar, crowsteps, pedimented dormers, cone-roofed turret on low service wing. Converted to Children's Museum, 1905, Glasgow Corporation. Refurbished and converted to sheltered housing, c.1992, Nicholas Groves-Raines. Saltire Society Commendation, 1994. Lodge, c.1858, crowstep gables, rubble, ashlar dressings. Conservatory, Latin-cross plan, dome at crossing, semicircular ends, cast iron and glass. Tent-like extension, tensile fabric structure, 1990s, Glasgow City Council. The Park is also home to the National Rose Collection.
