Cathcart Castle, 15th century (demolished)

The keep, about 15 by 9 metres (50 by 30 feet), with vaulted ground and upper floors, had an internal turnpike stair for security and was surrounded by a curtain wall. It fell out of use in the mid-16th century and about 1740 was dis-roofed, prior to a proposed demolition. This was not carried out until 1980, long after Glasgow Corporation had bought the estate to form Linn Park.
