Kelvin Court, 1-52 and 53-100 Great Western Road, 1938, James Newton Fatkin

Two H-plan, six- and seven-storey blocks of flats. The only scheme of inter-war mansion flats of this scale in Scotland, using outrageous Newcastle red brick. Echoing 1930s London style with metal windows, vertical glass blocks at entrance stairtowers and curved cantilever rear balconies. Some flats retain their 1930s details such as fireplaces.

Taken from "Greater Glasgow: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Sam Small, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
