Portree House, J. Gillespie Graham, 1806-9 Plain Georgian house built for Lord Macdonald's chamberlain. Harled walls, framed by corner pilasters and moulded cornice; later wing and ashlar porch. In 1818 Daniell described the grounds as ' in a state of cultivation highly creditable to the exertions and good taste of the owne ...fertile inclosures, bounded by quickset hedges ... good walled garden, producing most of the flowers and fruits of the South'.
