The laundry, c.1845, 'style of J & W Smith', perched at edge of first terrace above the Ythan, taking advantage of fall in ground for an additional half storey (as well as proximity to water). In pinned rubble with granite dressings; low-pitched, broad-eaved roof. Suitably plain and functional; 1975 extension.
