Tigh Cosaig, running off eastwards, is believed to have originated as the officers' houses built by Sir Patrick Strachan, c.1721, depicted in John Henri Bastide's plan of 1720, which also confirms that the course of the Glenmore River has been altered as it nears its mouth.
