The gardens are extensive: largely 18th century, with the coped sections, 17th century or earlier - much topiary, including teddy bears, toy soldiers and egg-cups. The fluted gatepiers with wrought-iron work on the axis of the house are mid-18th century. Two sundials, one of 1722. The east gates have four piers capped with urns, 1900; the west gates a former bow-fronted tollhouse, rebuilt from old materials early this century. Rectangular, 17th century doocot with

double rat courses and crowsteps.
