Lloyds TSB, High Street, 1867, William Smith. Originally the Town and County Bank; very deep, almost double block of two storeys and attic, with windows outlined in granite ashlar. Flashy Renaissance front to entice the new farmers' wealth, dominated by Doric porch with balustraded top, a segmentally pedimented tripartite window, quoins, and cornice and parapet. Shallow, two-window, chimneys projection in gable. But overall, spare in comparison to its neighbour.
