Scott's Hospital, Gladstone Road, 1901, A Marshall Mackenzie. Fronts earlier symmetrical group by William Smith, 1853, 1860,1868 in harled Scots Baronial which includes pair of circular towers with conical slated roofs with pronounced bellcast. (Built from bequest of Alexander Scott of Craibstone House for the maintenance of aged men and women.) Ambitious symmetrical design in Scots-Perpendicular. Centre block dominated by square crenellated 'porte-cochère' tower in his Marischal College (see 'Aberdeen' in this series) manner. Two-storey advanced wings. In roughly squared granite blocks of varying size with Auchindoir freestone dressings.
