Nos 23-25 Bridge Street are shop premises occupying the ground floor of a larger block built in the early nineteenth century. Now merged into a single shop, these were formerly separate businesses.

The ground floor is dominated by a row of painted cast-iron Ionic pilasters (a projecting column styled to resemble a Classical Greek pillar) flanking the doors of the shop and the flats above. At one end is an apparently earlier freestyle Classical pilaster. The shop premises were probably added to an existing residential building in the late nineteenth century, and a datestone of 1872 above the shops probably refers to the conversion.
