A large walled garden occupies sloping-ground to the south-west of Kames House. The walls are constructed of rubble masonry, with an inner lining of red brick.

Possibly dating from the eighteenth century, the garden was recorded as being overgrown in 1898. However, the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map, dating from the mid-nineteenth century, shows that it was once divided into two, with a formal layout to the north and what was probably an orchard in the southern part.
