The farmhouse at Swintonhill is a late eighteenth-century building which lies to the south of the associated farmsteading.

The house is a two-storeyed structure, with an attic and a basement. It features Classical details, and is built of sandstone rubble, with brick chimney-stacks, a combination of materials commonly encountered in buildings of late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century date in the Scottish Borders.

Associated with the farmhouse at Swinton Hill is a walled garden, entered by a set of iron gates.
