The Allargue Arms Hotel has long served as an inn, having been depicted as a public house on the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map, published in the 1870s. It is located at the bottom of a steep slope, which carries the public road up towards the Lecht.

A sketch, dating from the early twentieth century, shows the inn as a two-storey building. It has since been extended, and now provides accommodation for skiers, walkers and shooting-parties.
