Redbraes Cottage lies to the east of Marchmont House, and formerly served as the laundry. It was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer, who carried out work on the estate between 1913 and 1920.

The cottage is built in an Arts and Crafts style, and includes features such as a central porch and bay windows. Like many of the estate buildings, it is constructed of cream-coloured sandstone, and has a slated roof.
