Two burnt mounds are situated about 10m apart on the E side of the valley of the Breedy Burn, 430m ENE of the summit of Cruise Back Fell.

i. NX 1834 6237 The W mound measures 12m from NNE to SSW by 6.5m transversely and is 0.8m in maximum height. A hole 1m across has been dug into the crest of the mound close to the NNE end.

ii. NX 1836 6236 The E mound, which is traversed by a stone dyke, is roughly circular, measuring 9m in diameter by 0.7m in height. There is a hollow in the E side of the mound measuring 4.3m across the mouth by 3.2m transversely; it opens onto a small burn.
