NN 72940 00700 An archaeological watching was required on the site of meadow field to the south of Doune Castle. To oversee the prop construction of a shinty pitch for use in the filming of a television series. Four post holes, 0.20m by 0.20m, were excavated by an auger to a depth of approximately 0.50m, for the purpose of erecting two goals for the shinty pitch. The soil was tested for artifacts and a record was made of each excavation. No archaeology was identified during these works.
