AOC Archaeology Ltd undertook a programme of archaeological mitigation on behalf of Transport Scotland ahead of the Tomatin to Moy section of the A9 Dualling Programme.
An earthwork survey was undertaken on a stretch of Wade's 18th century Military Road (NH72NE NH 7975 2978) to the north of Tomatin. The surviving remains of the military road comprised a revetment wall running for 115m northwest to southeast between the Porters Lodge and the Allt na Frithe.
