Between 22nd and 24th February 2022, AOC Archaeology Group undertook a comprehensive archaeological metal detecting survey as part of a programme of archaeological mitigation for the Tomatin to Moy section of the A9 Dualling Programme. The metal detector survey was undertaken at Site 93: The Rout of Moy (National Grid Reference (NGR): 272980, 834637), and an area extending to approximately 200 m either side of the modern marker cairn within the Proposed Scheme footprint. This also incorporated a section of General Wades Military Road.

The survey revealed a small amount of metal detritus including tin cans, wire, a battery, modern two pence coin and shredded aluminium. These were related to modern forestry activities and general waste from public visits. All material was removed from site and recycled.
