RCAHMS undertook a measured survey of the motte at Mote Hill, Auchindoir using a self-reducing alidade and plane-table on 25 April 1996. A section was added to the plan on 9 May 2002. The resultant 1:500 plan and section were redrawn in ink, scanned and finalised in graphic vector software at 1:1000 (unpublished), and published at 1:2500 (RCAHMS 2007, fig. 8.11).
