This project is in progress, and this note will be updated on completion in late 2023. The project aims to review NRHE site records that relate to scheduled monuments in the East Lothian council area. Classification, period and location of site records will be reviewed with reference to oblique aerial photographs. Classification and period terms are drawn from existing HES nomenclature and sites will be polygonised using the Historic Environment Polygonisation Standards (Scotland) technical guidance. Polygonisation will mainly be based on existing cropmark mapping undertaken in the 2000s, with additional aerial photographs rectified as necessary.
