Auchendrane Castle NS 33481512 NS31NW 18

There are no visible remains of the tower-house which stood at Auchendrane, probably on the site occupied by the present house (a listed building, built in 1856). Abercrummie describes it as, 'an high tower with laigh buildings surrounded with good orchards and gardens, parks and good cornfeilds, the owner hereof is Moore.' In 1837, the building was in ruins and by 1856 these had apparently been removed.

RCAHMS 1985, visited October 1985.
