Cropmarks on aerial photographs (John Dewar 1975, RCAHMSAP 1983, 1984 and 1989) have revealed an enclosure on the crest of a narrow ridge known as Kirkholm Hill. It is roughly oval on plan, but the sides turn sharply at the N and S ends to form rounded angles. The interior measures about 70m from N to S by 50m transversely within a ditch up to 3m in breadth and there is an entrance on the S.

Information from RCAHMS (SPH), 20 February 1996.
