A type 27 pillbox is visible on a photograph in the collection 'Papers of Paul Shillabeer' held by HES archives, dated 1950, but was taken around 1945 before the pillbox was known to be demolished. The photograph shows the loopholes are blocked up with coils of what are probably barbed wire lie on the concrete roof. Within the central well the upright post for a light machine gun can be seen.
