NT 54855 34189 A watching brief was conducted during ground- breaking work below four broken sandstone slabs outside the doorway into the North Aisle at Melrose Abbey. The fill of an underlying drain was removed and the drain replaced during this work. No significant archaeological features or deposits were observed or disturbed.
