NS 73379 76535 The remains of a farmstead are situated on the NE end of Croy Hill beside the Roman fort (Canmore ID 45875) and are present on William Roy’s military maps. The remains include at least three houses all dating from different periods, and outbuildings, possibly all post-medieval. The latest structure is that of Croy Hill Cottage. In 1933, it was the birthplace of Mr Dan Rae, a current resident of Croy village.

Several blocks of worked stone were also recorded.

Another possible structure is situated some 10m to the NE (NS 73450 76720).

The results of the survey will be published in a forthcoming ACFA occasional paper.
