Ardclach Bell Tower NH 953 453 NH94NE 1

This building stands on a promontory overlooking the gorge of the River Findhorn and the parish church. A two-storeyed building, it was built in 1655, probably as a watch-tower and local prison. Subsequently the building was adapted for use as a bell-tower, a belfry being added at this time.
