The former parish church of Kirkmichael stands close to the Cromarty Firth; it was superseded in 1662 when the parish of Resolis was created. The E gable incorporates a late medieval window; the E part of the nave has been replaced by a mausoleum of more recent date. Set into the N wall to the W of the mausoleum there is an arched tomb which is probably of 16th-century date. To the SE of the church there is what is probably a medieval tombstone.
