Cairn, Ward of Browland.

This cairn (Fig. 635), which is marked on the OS map as a ‘Watch Tower’, is situated 329 ft. above sea-level, on the top of the Ward of Browland, one of the most conspicuous hills in the district. It presents no distinctive features, but its size, 64 ft. by 53 ft., suggests that it has been a structure of more than usual importance. So far as can now be seen, there has been no setting of boulders. A modern landmark has been erected near the centre.

RCAHMS 1946, visited 24 June 1931.
