Location Notes: Kilwhinleck 2 is one of a cluster of four carved panels (Kilwhinleck 1-4) on bedrock in a field of improved pasture NNE of Kilwhinleck Farm, which lies on the A844 road about 1km SE of Greenan Mill. There are views N to Greenan Farm and E to Craw Hill. The view S is blocked by mature woodland. The bedrock lies in low ground below the farm steading, opposite the Greenan Burn and a small water meadow.

Panel Notes: This is a medium grained schist type outcrop measuring 0.75 x 0.90m and lying flush with the ground. The surface slopes gently to the W and is rough with fissures/cracks, natural hollows, bedding planes and weathering channels. There are 3 cupmarks, a dumb-bell motif and a possible teardrop shape created by a deep partial ring around what might be a natural hollow. On a separate, adjacent section of the panel there is also a cup and with single partial ring and short radial groove, and a cup intersecting with a natural fissure. A pecked groove runs around most of the outer edge of this section of the panel. There are no visible tool marks.
