Pre afforestation field survey recorded a C-Shaped drystone walled sheep shelter with drystone wing walls extending to the N and S. On the N, turf and rubble wall form a cross. The shelters lie within a large square enclosure defined by turf and rubble banks and measuring 80m N-S by 70m E-W, centred on NC 3906 1322. A smaller, square enclosure, measuring 16m across, is set within the SE corner of the larger enclosure.
