Descriptions of visible sections of road running N to S.

NN 8525 1180 - NN 8565 1497: cropmarks recorded on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP, CUCAP) reveal the line of the Roman road as intermittent lines of parallel ditch, about 6m to 7m apart, which are flanked by intermittent runs of quarry pits (EARNAP 142). What may be the line of the road is visible as a slight mound in the gully of unnamed burn (NN 8566 1226) to NE of the Signal Station (NN81SE 8)

NN 8581 1245 - NN 8587 1492: (NN81SE 11.02) the line of the Roman road and flanking ditches have been recorded as intermittent cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1982, 1986). Quarry pits are visible on the photographs to both sides of the road (EARNAP 139).

NN 8695 1395 - NN 8699 1403: (NN81SE 11.01) the line of the Roman road has been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1982, 1986), which show two roughly parallel rows of quarry pits, set between 14m and 25m apart, running along a low ridge in gently undulating ground.

NN 8736 1454 - NN 8745 1489: (NN81SE 11.01) cropmarks recorded on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1982, 1986) reveal the line of the Roman road as roughly parallel rows of quarry pits set between 20m and 26m apart. The watch tower (NN81SE 7) lies on the line of the NW row of quarry pits (EARNAP 122).
