NT 13 97 Metal-detecting near Gairneybridge recovered a notably small copper-alloy tankard handle, very worn from use (which has abraded much of the decoration). It has a pointed oval handle with a sub-circular attachment plate at one end (with tang); the other is damaged. The handle was decorated with a central incised line, with double-headed trumpets running along the edges (creating raised margins), meeting but not merging at the handle-plate junction. L 56 mm; handle W 15.5 mm; overall H 27.5 mm

The findspot lies west of Loch Leven, in an extensively drained area, suggesting it may have been placed as an offering in a wet area.

Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 22/19) and allocated to Perth Museum
