A cultural heritage appraisal of the 8.6km export cable between the Burnhead Moss Wind farm and the electricity substation east of Armadale, located largely along existing highways. The assessment established heritage assets within the study area and identified predicted effects. Information sources included the WoSAS HER, Falkirk SMR, Historic Scotland, RCAHMS, NLS and libraries for published, photographic and cartographic data, and a site walkover inspection. Sites recorded in the immediate vicinity of the cable route included extant and former farmsteads of 16th to 18th century date, a road and mill lead of 18th century date, and buildings, wells, coal mines, quarries and a lint pool of 19th century date. A watching brief proposed at specific locations where the cable route directly adjacent to recorded heritage assets.
