Carved Stone, Hartwoodmyres (NT 433 248).

In the farmhouse of Hartwoodmyres, situated about two miles and a half SSW of Selkirk, there is a carved lintel from the old house which stood beside a nearby burn (Craig-Brown 1886). This stone bears a central monogram of the initials of William Ogilvie of Hartwoodmyres and of his wife Elizabeth Turnbull, flanked by the date 1695.
