Dun Beag, Torran.

On an elevated rocky promontory jutting into Loch Slapin to the South of the township of Torran, about ¼ mile south-south-east of Dun Mor [NG52SE 4], are the remains of Dun Beag. The plateau on the summit of the rock is roughly oval on plan and measures 36 feet from north to south and 28 feet from east to west; it stands about 30 feet above the high-water mark and 20 feet above the neck on the landward side to the north. The slight remains of a stone wall are traceable along the whole circumference of the defence, being rather higher towards the land.

RCAHMS 1928, visited 13 May 1914.
