NT 17535 67387 A watching brief was undertaken, 15 May 2018, at site of the former tannery. The machine excavation of two trenches, positioned over the route of a mill lade shown on historic maps, was monitored. Whilst some building demolition in the form of sandstone fragments, brick rubble and mortar were noted in situ, no remains of the mill lade were encountered.
