Initial evaluation work included a topsoil strip of an area recorded as 'Strip 1', upon completion it was determined that there was a large enough buffer to move the entire phase to a 10% evaluation. 'Strip 1' area was subject to a small scale excavation of features found largely in the southern boundary. The strip area was c.170m by 30m and was located in close proximity (but not including) the scheduled monument known as 'Piskelly, unenclosed settlement 200m S of' (SM6607). This was followed by a two stage evaluation (see event ID: 1093866 and 1093885).
