In the bell chamber of new St.Andrew's Church is a bell measuring 2 ¼ feet from skirt to crown with a diameter of 1 foot 5 inches at crown and 2 feet 9 inches at skirt. Below an anthemion cresting is the inscription in Roman capitals: ‘Jacobus Monteith me fecit Edinb--ugh pro Templo de North Berick anno domini 1642 spero meliora.’ Below the inscription are two thistles alternating with two shields each surmounted by a crown, and bearing a hammer.
