A KX200 telephone box formerly stood in a recess outside Lochend Court, on the N side of the Canongate. For a while after the telephone was removed the open shelter remained, attracting graffiti written using pen and spray paint. The word ‘YES’, a reference to the Scottish independence referendum (18 September 2014) was written in chalk on the wall close by. It and the remains of the phone box have since been removed.
