NY 29785 92473 A watching brief was undertaken 23 November 2017 during the replacement of an electricity pole within the SAM of Crooks Scooped Settlement (SM: 4368). The excavations, to a depth of 2m, revealed that the settlement mound had been created using re-deposited gravels from the excavations of the settlement platform. The excavation did not penetrate the base of the mound.
