NH 819 534 – NH 754 494 A watching brief was carried out, 25–27 January 2017, during groundworks for underground electricity cables between Easter Glackton Farm, Nairn (NH 819 534), and the Norbord Plant, Morayhill (NH 754 494). The only archaeological features encountered were in a section of the trench near Balspardon Steading. In addition to several drains and pits, a larger feature consisting of a ditch and bank, a considerable quantity of cobbles, and a substantial charcoal-rich deposit overlying a pale sand deposit was revealed. At the edge of Balspardon Steading a large monolith was found lying on the ground. This ditch and bank, together with the monolith, may be remnants of the Flemington Stone Circles, mentioned in the New Statistical

Account of Scotland.
