Built in 1874 by William Hay. Distinctly composed mansion with Romanesque, early Gothic and Jacobean details, baronial entrance tower and conservatory. Mainly 2-storey and attic; a symmetrical composition, with slim square entrance tower (NE angle) with corbelled parapet, cap house, and corbelled angle turret of 2 stages, fishscale conical slated cap and cast-iron ball finial. The conservatory is contemporary; apsidal ended plan with arched and panelled roof, glass gabled clesetory with cast iron cresting at apex. Surviving boarded garden doors with elaborate neo-medieval wrought-iron hinges.
