Stone type: red granite

Place of discovery: NJ c 533 473

Present location: near Whitestones House, Morayshire, NJ 5297 4705.

Evidence for discovery: found during ploughing in 1944 on a promontory at the confluence of the Isla and Deveron rivers on North Tillytarmont Farm and taken to the grounds of Whitestones House.

Present condition: worn and the top right corner is broken away.

Description

On one broad face of this slab are incised two Pictish symbols: a crescent and V-rod above a double disc and Z-rod. The discs have non-concentric internal rings.

Date: seventh century.
