NN 80174 00882 A metal detector survey was undertaken, 26–28 November 2013, along the proposed lines of drainage associated with development work. A total area of 2600m² was surveyed (a 4m wide band along 640m of drainage). The majority of finds were of 19th- and 20th-century date, related to farming activity and were not retained. Items of interest, which were retained consisted of a silver ring, a copper alloy

decorative object, a partial horse shoe, a George V halfpenny and an unidentified metal object.

During the course of the survey a stone slab was noted at NN 80155 00875, in the field W of the current farm house. The client and the local area archaeologist have been informed of the presence of this possible inhumation cist and it will be left in situ. An additional possible cist (NN 80232 00909) was noted by the client on 9 December 2013 on the line of the new eastern access to the development. This cist will require excavation prior to the construction of the new access road.
