Stone type: red sandstone

Place of discovery: NC 9316 0838

Present location: Dunrobin Museum (ARC 538), Dunrobin Castle.

Evidence for discovery: found in 1872 close to the railway.

Present condition: much edge damage but the carving is mostly intact.

Description

This slab bears three incised symbols: a crescent and V-rod and on its right a mirror, touching the crescent, and to the left of the mirror handle there is a single-sided comb with a shaped back.

Date: seventh century.
