(Centred on NS 35490 17907) An archaeological evaluation was undertaken prior to the construction of a residential development at Corton, South Ayrshire. The evaluation required a 5% trenching sample of development areas C and D. A total of 70 trenches of varying lengths and alignments were excavated encountering a few agricultural furrows and field drains. No significant archaeological features or artefacts were revealed. No further works are considered necessary within the development area.
